The first project that Minoan Energy implements is a photovoltaic park of virtual net metering with capacity ??MW in parcels of land leased by the Minoan Pediada Municipality.

The electrical power generated is distributed among the members and it is net metered depending on their consumption.

Thus, each member has a virtual PV, without this being at his premises, while there no need to worry for its operation since its care rests with the Energy Community.

At the same time, the installation of 60KW capacity wind turbines are being planned.

With your participation in Minoan Energy, you get access to renewable energy sources of your region and you become energy independent from the big energy providers.

The electricity power generated by the projects of the Community is yours since you are co-owner of these projects. In this way not only you secure high returns, but you are also able, through your vote, to participate in decision making equally, irrespective of the amount of your participation.

At the same time, you contribute to the development of our region, since the money for the energy, which up to now were going elsewhere, will now remain here, creating new jobs.

Minoan Energy presents the characteristics that make its members feel certainty and optimism.
Crete, which is the region where our Community operates, is privileged with a rare energy potential, thanks to plenty of sunshine and the wind, which blows with the ideal speed in terms of its harness. All we have to do is connect our power sockets to this inexhaustible source of energy.

Not only the energy generation is inexhaustible, but also its consumption which keeps increasing. This ensures that no matter how much energy we generate, we will be able to dispose it to the consumer public.

And of course, because man is the most important factor, we are proud at Energy Community of the hundreds of members, the experienced administration, the well-established group of scientists, as well as the bonds we have created with the Region of Crete, the Municipalities, the Academic Institutions of the island and the International Grids.

In any case, each member is responsible up to the amount that corresponds to his share value. That is, if one holds a share, one is responsible for 100 euros. If one holds five, one is responsible for 500 euros and so on and for nothing more.

Minoan Energy members could potentially belong to three general groups depending on the objectives and aims they set for themselves:

1.

The idealists, that is those who want clean energy, the decentralised development, the energy democracy, to combat energy poverty and tackle climate change.

2.

Those who want to reduce the energy cost of their home or business, as many times and under conditions of crisis, the cost crushes the economy of the households and businesses.

3.

Those who want to invest in the clean energy domain and secure a substantial income for 25 years.

You fill out the membership application form and you sign it.

2.

You deposit the amount of 100 euros in the following IBAN account in order to acquire the compulsory member share. (You can acquire more shares if you wish so).

You scan or take a photo of the above application form and you send it to the email address: info@minoanenergy.gr

4.

Following the same way, you send a copy of your electricity bill/bills, to which you want the net metering to apply.

Following the same way, if you want, you send us the completed form “member skills”. This one is completely optional. After the above procedure, you are a complete and equal member of Minoan Energy and you have all the rights and obligations of a member. You have the right to speech, control, vote, participation in all the procedures, constant updates etc.
* ** If you do not want net metering, invest in energy sale project to secure a satisfactory annual income, please declare it in the above application, so that you receive the respective update. In this case you ignore step (4).

While participating in the above, I secure for my family and me a great benefit, which mounts to 25% in the case of energy sale and over 30% when I participate in Minoan Energy net metering projects.

You can leave whenever you want by transferring your share to another person, after Consultation with the Board of Directors, so that the person the shares are transferred to does not acquire a percentage higher than 20% of the capital of the Community, as laid down in our statute.
