We were delighted to learn of the unanimous decision of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Phaistos to join our Community as a member.

The Municipality of Phaistos is the 13th municipal member of the Community and the 11th from Crete.

A major municipality—one of the largest in Crete in terms of history, culture, production, natural and human resources, archaeological heritage, natural beauty, and positive prospects for the future—honors us with its participation.

We warmly thank our friend, Mayor Grigoris Nikoloudakis, as well as the entire Municipal Council, for the great honor they have bestowed upon us, and we promise to do everything necessary to ensure a harmonious and mutually beneficial cooperation.

With great pleasure and honor, we welcomed on 5 September the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Bebeb Abdul Kurnia Nugraha Djundjunan, to the offices of our Community. The Ambassador, accompanied by his spouse and embassy officials, expressed strong interest in the operational model and activities of Minoan Energy, as well as in its impact on society, the local economy, and the environment.

During the detailed presentation that followed by our team, the Ambassador placed particular emphasis on the European programme Crete Renewable Energy Valley, which is currently in full progress. The project focuses on the pilot, innovative, and decentralized production of renewable energy, in which our Community is a key and beneficiary partner.

Our discussion expanded to the active participation of citizens, the distribution of benefits, and the importance of implementing small‑scale projects that enjoy social acceptance, do not alter the natural landscape, and contribute in multiple ways to a solidarity‑based economy. We exchanged views on potential and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of technical know‑how related to aspects of the energy transition at the local level. During our visit to the Community’s existing projects, technical details regarding operation and performance were also discussed.

A dinner followed, where the conversation continued in a more relaxed atmosphere and touched on topics of broader interest, while symbolic gifts were exchanged. This constructive meeting leaves a very positive impression and significantly strengthens the Community’s international networking.

It is worth noting that Indonesia consists of 18,700 islands and is the fourth most populous country in the world.
