The fourth net‑metering project was implemented by Minoan Aroania CEC, a subsidiary of Minoan Energy Community, near the village of Roviata in the Regional Unit of Ilia.

It has a capacity of 1100 KW and, since April 2025, has been providing free electricity to 369 households.

This is the second project of Aroania and the fourth overall for the parent organization Minoan Energy, operating under the model of virtual net‑metering.

The 300 families that have just been connected raise the total number of households now enjoying the benefits of producing their own energy to more than 830.

These figures demonstrate both the dynamism and the necessity of broad‑based Energy Communities—an institution that clearly needs to be strengthened.

But they also show something else: they disprove the narrative that “small players” cannot implement large‑scale projects or contribute decisively to the Energy Transition.
