Alexandros Garefalakis

Dr. Alexandros Garefalakis is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Department of Business Administration and Tourism, at the Hellenic Mediterranean University (H.M.U). He holds a degree in Financial Applications, a Master degree in Accounting and Finance from University of Southampton and PhD in Accounting from Hellenic Open University. Moreover, is Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), Certified Public Accountant (Fellow of CPA), Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Controls Specialists (CCS) and Business Consultant in numerous of companies, Organizations and European programs from 2006.

He also has twelve (12) years of academic teaching experience (in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Greece and Europe) and his areas of research interest include the Disclosure Narrative information, ESG, Management Commentary Index (Ma.Co.I), Auditing, Accounting in Operation Research.

He has co-authored 10 books on Audit Accounting and Management Accounting issues. He has more than 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and participation in more than 30 national and international conferences. As well, he has been awarded first prize in innovation competition "Young Businessman" for the Intelligent Qualitative Analysis Database (AIQAD) and the Ma.Co.I index he has developed at 2003.
