The General Assembly of Minoan Energy, which took place on 22 October 2023, unanimously approved a resolution calling on the State to ensure the fair allocation of Crete’s energy capacity and to support broad‑based Energy Communities.
More specifically, we request the revocation of all illegal and abusive licenses granted in previous years, and the allocation of at least 70% of the island’s energy capacity to broad‑based energy communities, local‑government bodies, and small and very small businesses based in Crete.
Minoan Energy calls on the entire political leadership of Crete—its Members of Parliament, the Regional Governor (who has already responded positively), local‑government representatives, and all major social and professional bodies of the island—to openly and firmly support this reasonable and well‑substantiated demand, so that the energy transition in Crete may proceed with justice and democracy, for the benefit of its citizens.
