The head of the PASOK energy sector Frangiskos Parasiris at the offices of Minoan Energy

On Wednesday, August 2, we had the pleasure of welcoming to our offices in Arkalochori, PASOK's head of energy, Mr. Frangiskos Parasiris.

The meeting took place immediately after assuming the above duties and on his own initiative, in order to be informed about the issues of the energy transition, about the prospects and problems of the Energy Communities in general, and in particular, about the projects, plans, challenges , the goals but also the problems of the largest Energy Community of the Country, ours, Minoan Energy.

This was followed by a detailed briefing on all of the above, a broad exchange of views and our proposals for the development and streamlining of the institution of Energy Communities, with an emphasis on broad-based communities, with the participation of OTAs A' and B' grade, so that the energy transition in our Country and particularly in Crete, to be done in terms of democracy, justice, social sensitivity and inclusive of citizens and institutions.

Special mention and a lot of discussion was made on the issue of the distribution of electricity in Crete, which is developing as one of the most important issues for the immediate future, which will show whether the term ENERGY DEMOCRACY will have an essential meaning and power for the citizens and our country . In other words, whether society, ordinary citizens, the political and social bodies that represent them as well as small businesses, will participate in the energy transition or remain on the sidelines.

This was also the main topic of discussion at another meeting, which took place recently in the Region of Crete, in which participated the Regional Governor himself, the President, members of the Board of Directors and scientific collaborators of Minoan Energy.

We would like to thank Mr. Parasiris for his presence in our offices and emphasize that these meetings were the first of a series of meetings to promote the issues mentioned above and the possible problems that will arise in the future. It is also well known our firm position that the dialogue and the cooperation with all institutions, the Government and all political forces, is the best way to promote such important issues for the people, Society and the Country.
